Location: Reservoir at Pacific Spirit Park (near 16th Ave. & Sasamat Street) Time: See your assigned timeslot in the e-mail. Dress Code: Something comfortable for walking in the woods. What to bring: Blessings & Kind words (And an umbrella if it rains)
Please join us for a union ceremony on the morning of July 3rd. Take a pilgrimage to us and give us your blessings. This might take the form of a note, a speech, a song, or a drawing. Afterwards, you can continue on with a walk or a hike if you like. Please note, there are no speeches at the reception, so if you have something to say do so at this ceremony!
We also understand that this is a long way to go and that many people have to work in the morning. If you can’t make it or even just don’t want to come to this part, just skip it!
Please note there might be a photographer present. If you do not want your picture taken just let them know.
This ceremony is on Musqueam land at Pacific Spirit Park. It is easily reached via the #25 and #33 busses, which stop very close by. You can also take the #99, which stops about a six minute walk further.
Come during the time that is listed in your email.
Arrive at Pacific Spirit Park and find us on top of the reservoir. This is easily reached by walking in from the entrance on the south side of 16th Ave., at Sasamat Street. From that entrance, it’s only about a five minute walk in. See included map.
You can choose how to interact with us. Offer us any blessings you wish to. Leave a natural gift- such as a small leaf, or twig, or a flower petal. Draw a circle of chalk around us. Quietly observe. Take a picture. It’s up to you how you praise our union. We ask that you spend an amount of time that feels appropriate to you, but to also allow other visitors room to enjoy their visit. We want to keep the space quiet, relaxed, and to avoid a large congregation of people.

We hold our guests in high esteem, and we ask that you treat each other respectfully in turn so everybody can have a good time! We have friends and family of all genders, ethnicities, sexualities, and life situations and we value the time each guest has dedicated to come celebrate with us.
If you don’t already know somebody’s pronouns, please ask. It’s okay to be mistaken, but it’s important to learn from mistakes and get it right.
Treat black, indigenous, and people of colour respectfully. We want to lift each other up.
Do not ask invasive questions or use identities and bodies as a topic of conversation to satisfy your curiosity or to try to win good ally points. Ask people what foods they like instead!
